Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed Sandeep Warrier as a replacement for the injured Jasprit Bumrah for the entire IPL 2023 season.
Bumrah underwent surgery recently, and his absence will be sorely felt as he has been a key player for MI over the years.
Sandeep Warrier is a right-arm fast bowler who made his debut for India in 2021 and has played over 200 games in the domestic circuit.
He has taken 362 wickets across formats, including 69 in T20s.
Warrier started his career with Kerala in 2012 and was the leading wicket-taker for them in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and the 2019 Ranji Trophy.
He then moved to Tamil Nadu in the 2021 season and has become a mainstay in their bowling lineup.
