RCB hit by double blow as Hazlewood, Maxwell out of IPL opene
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been dealt with a double blow as Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell will miss the start of IPL 2023.
Hazlewood is ruled out due to an Achilles problem, while Maxwell is recovering from a leg injury.
Hazlewood, who was expected to lead the team's bowling attack, will miss a few matches, while Maxwell is doubtful for RCB's opening game of the season.
Both players joined RCB for a hefty sum of money in the previous seasons.
RCB will now have to look for replacements for the two key players as they gear up to face Kolkata Knight Riders on April 1, 2023.
Hazlewood had scalped 20 wickets in 12 matches last year, and his absence will leave a void in the RCB pace attack.
