Hazlewood set to miss at least seven matches of IPL 2023

Josh Hazlewood, the Australian fast bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore, is set to miss at least the first seven games of IPL 2023 as he is still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury.

He is expected to join the team on April 14 but will need another week to be match-fit.

Hazlewood was sent back home from the Test tour of India due to the injury that had been troubling him for two months.

He last played for Australia in January. Hazlewood was picked by RCB for INR 7.75 crore at the 2022 mega auction and was their second-highest wicket-taker last season.

The RCB squad has already suffered from several injuries, with Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks both ruled out of the season.

RCB's first game of the season is against Mumbai Indians on April 2.
